How to Prepare for a Session

It is up to you to decide how much you want to do to prepare for our session. In truth, the most important and only requirement is to trust the process, and yourself and show up! But, many of you benefit greatly by learning to quiet the mind, reading some helpful articles to debunk myths and provide relevant information, and it never hurts to do some practical things like practicing.

Understanding the Process

After an initial interview, we start the hypnotic process off with a relaxing ‘hypnotic induction’ or guided meditation. We begin by relaxing the body, then the mind, to a peaceful, trance-like state that’s somewhere between waking and sleeping. For therapy sessions- once you are in a deep hypnotic state, we work to uncover causative events for the issues you are facing. We shine a light on those issues and gather enough information to then apply a full therapeutic resolution. For QHHT and LBL sessions-we discover a past life or two, then pass through the death scene. After that, we connect to your Higher Self or Soul for clarity on your current life.

I strongly believe knowledge is power and the best tool to getting one prepared for a session. When we go into the process understanding what it is and how it works, we go into it with confidence and ease. I recommend if you haven't already, read "Hypnosis Myths", "Past Life Regression Myths" and the "FAQs" to understand the hypnotic process more.

Additional Ways To Prepare:

1. Learn to Quiet Your Mind

If you are not a regular meditator now is a good time to begin. A quiet mind that is not filled with racing or looping thoughts is a good tool to have in regression. But it is not necessary. Once again, the most important thing is to show up and trust yourself.

This is an excellent YouTube video that explains exactly what meditation is and why it is important.

Meditate in silence a minimum of 10-20 minutes per day or use the following YouTube nature sounds with headphones to help reduce outside noise interference.

2. Be Open and Willing

Approach the experience with an open mind: Hypnosis works best when you're open to the process. Let go of skepticism and allow yourself to be willing to explore and experience what may come up during the session.

3. Have a Clear Intention

Think about what you want to achieve or focus on during the session. Whether it’s overcoming stress, addressing a past trauma, or simply relaxing, having a specific goal can help the session be more effective.

4. Let Go of Expectations

Trust the process: Hypnosis can look different for everyone. Don’t worry about whether you will “go deep” into a trance or if your experience will be exactly like what you’ve read about. Focus on being present and trusting the process. Release any pressure: Avoid putting pressure on yourself to "get it right" or expecting a specific outcome. Relax and allow the session to unfold naturally.

5. Prepare A List of Questions (For QHHT Only)

For those booking a Quantum Healing session, you will want to prepare a list of 8-10 questions and concerns you would like to ask your soul or higher self. As your facilitator I ask that you have this list prepared before the session and send prior to the session via email. Put these questions and concerns in order of importance to you as we may not be able to address them all. I have had many clients bring a single question or issue of concern to the session, and some who bring dozens. It really does not matter how many you come up with, only that you put them in order of importance.

For Online Sessions:

1. Choose the Right Time and Place

Find a quiet, comfortable environment: Make sure you’re in a space where you can be undisturbed for the duration of the session. Choose a quiet room with minimal distractions.

Pick a time when you’re not rushed: Schedule your session at a time when you can fully relax without having to worry about other commitments afterward.

2. Ensure Headsets Are Working Properly Before Our Session

Headsets are required for online sessions. The best headset is one that plugs in to your electrical device, preferably with a microphone that goes in front of the mouth. Bluetooth is not allowed for sessions as there can be many issues that arise while using them (Batteries, connection, etc). Please test your headset and the connection in zoom before our session.

On The Day Of Your Session:

1. Have your 8-10 Questions for your higher self sent in to Devin (QHHT Only)

2. No caffeine, drugs or alcohol

3. You understand that hypnotherapy is not anesthesia. You will be ‘aware’ of yourself lying on the bed the whole time. You are not ‘going’ anywhere physically. However, we are choosing to focus on what is in the mind and let the mind and subconscious lead us to where we need to go and what we need to see.

4. You understand that your conscious mind will give you ‘doubts.’ For example ‘It’s not working/You are just making it up.’ But that you can choose to ignore that part of your mind and allow yourself to focus on what is unfolding in the mind, no matter how silly or strange it may seem. The conscious mind’s job is to keep you safe and it will do this at all costs. If you allow your mind to drift and float you will arrive at your soul’s expression.

5. Wear comfortable clothing

6. Avoid heavy, greasy meals beforehand

And For Online Sessions:

7. You have a safe space to conduct the session, with no interruptions. Make sure all devices that make noise are put on silent

8. Any cats/dogs are placed in another room for the session

9. Ensure that we have a clear connection for the session

10. You have a headset preferably with a microphone that goes in front of your mouth. Or at the very least headphones. Bluetooth is not permitted, too many problems can arise while in session

With these tips, you’ll be well-prepared to have a successful and enjoyable hypnosis experience. Remember, the goal is to be present and receptive to the process, allowing your subconscious mind to guide the healing journey.

And the most important thing: Relax and trust the process. Chances are if you are looking into Hypnosis and researching it, your soul is guiding you to do so. â™¡
